My secret friend. ;)

Last week, I received an e-mail from Jinju from the GEO Lounge proposing a game called "Manito". Its just the same as the Monito, Monita in Pinas, just with a different term, hehez. So, the game is within us English Clinic TAs, and according to the instructions, we have to help your Manito as much as we can, we can give them gifts or letters which we will leave in the Manito Box at the front desk in the lounge. The game lasts for 2weeks and after that, we will have a dinner party and reveal ourselves to our own Manitos. :) We can or can't join depending on our preference. I liked the idea so I joined. ;)

Unfortunately, since I was not feeling well today, I wasn't able to join the Dinner party huhu I wasn't able to find out who my Manito is :( Anyways, there's still a next round coming, I still joined 'cause I think its fun - makes me wanna go to the lounge all the time hahaha! :D

A day at Gyeongbokgung.

Our Korean Society and Culture Class had our Field Trip at Gyeongbokgung Palace - which is one of the most visited historical places and tourist spots here in Seoul. This palace was where the King and Queen of the earlier dynasty, Joseon Dynasty to be exact, used to live.

We were able to watch the changing of the guards Ceremony at the Gwanghamun gate; it takes place daily - one at 10am and another at 3pm.

"Geunjeongjeon" or the Throne Hall - is the largest and most formal place in the palace. This is where the king grants audiences to the officials, presides official functions and meet other foreign officials.

Ancient Kimchi Jars used in the earlier times were displayed in one of the houses.

"Gyeonghoeru" Pavillion in my background! It was where feasts are held. It floats on a man-made lake with a man-made hill across called Manesan.

Gangnyeongjeon or the King's Quarters - has 9 rooms with ondol (heated floors) on the left and right, and wooden floor on the middle. The king lived in the central room.

Funny thing that happened today was our Professor completely forgot about our activity today! I called her when we arrived at the meeting place and she told me it slipped in her mind! She explained she was out of town the previous day and her alarm didn't ring and blabla~ But since we're already there, she had no choice but to rush to us. So while she's on the way, she asked us to visit the Gwanghamun Plaza first. ;)

Korean Soccer Fever.

So last week, until yesterday was my busiest so far. Papers to read, Tight schedules, Late night meetings and all. *Sigh* Like everyday seemed so energy draining. But along with that tiring feeling, was enjoyment as well. Although there were quite a lot of things that needed to be done, those things were a bit enjoyable anyways. Some even more. ;) I'm starting to get comfortable with my environment and also the people around me. It's been a month since I've arrived and that's quite good news for my part. Now I can name new friends and acquaintances more than my fingers ;) :">

So yesterday, my B.I.L.K. mentor invited us to watch a soccer game with him at the World Cup Stadium in Seoul. How cool is that? I mean I've never watched a live soccer game back in Pinas because tickets are always sold out so when he asked us I didn't hesitated at all. Haha!

This was a great experience for me because I finally got to watch a live soccer game (I can finally tick this from my 365 bucketlist!) plus I got to meet new people too.

There were so many spectators even though its just an inter-city game. It was really crazy!

In the end, Seoul won with a score of 4-1. Good game it was. And their fans cannot be more happier! 승리 서울! ;)

5 and more reasons to be happy ☀

Today is one the happiest days of my life since I've come here to Korea. Horaay! ☺Its because lately, I've been worrying about a lot of things and I really can't help it. Though I really am the type who worries a lot, but, it just heightened here! :| (Oh god, maybe I'm getting old?) Loll or maybe its because of the fact that I have to be ten times responsible of my actions since there's nobody else who's gonna take responsibility for me anymore. Its not like I'm dependent back home, its just that I can't call on my parents nor my bestfriend anytime I need a little help.

So anyways, back to my happy times!

The reason - or rather reasons why my day is ultimately happy today is because:

1. I've already bought my own Sci Calc for our Stat class! ☺ I was hoping I could just borrow but I can't find someone who haven't had their calculators lent so I decided to just buy one.

2. And because of that, I can already answer our Stat HW faster and more convinently! ☺(Imagine getting covariance, standard deviations etc. with the use of a phone calcu/laptop calcu??!!)

3. Aside from the calculator that I bought, I was also able to finally buy a decent comforter (I have been turning off the aircon at night since day 1, good thing my roommates were kind enough to understand my awful situation, hehe) and that bread from the bakery inside the grocery that I was always coming back for (I've been going to that section for a couple of time already just having their free taste and not buying)

4. Our Tuesday class is OFFICIALLY cancelled! (The class is supposed to start on October but the professor won't be able to come anymore) That means 2 days off (excluding weekends) for us! ☺

5. The weather today is so fineee! (the past days were already cold for me, I've becoming poikilo again :|) but today, its just like my kind of weather :)

6. Something top secret! :") ♥

7. And last but not the least.. this actually is the highlight of my day, MY PACKAGE FINALLY ARRIVED! Wohooooo ☺ I tracked it last night and there was some kind of delay so I thought it would be lost or something so I really am happy that it finally arrived!

If there would be one lesson that this day taught me is that Good things really come to those who wait. I did, so all these good things and more happened which made my day extra happy today. ;)

Sleep tight everyone! (I'm going to sleep now with my newly bought comforter, with the aircon already turned on, HOHO :>>)

Has anyone seen my other half?

"Everybody's afraid to get hurt, to get rejected and so am I. I have been getting rejections so many times it almost drained all the courage left in me. But if I can't love again, if I, am not able to recognize even just the possibility of having someone that can actually love me for me, I - I guess that scares me more."

Happy Chuseok!

Chuseok (추석) is one of Korea's most important holidays. Its traditionally a celebration wherein families gather around the table, share food and give thanks to their ancestors for the abundant harvest. Since this is my first time to celebrate this kind of holiday, and obviously my family is not here (which you ideally celebrate with) - my only plan for celebrating Korean thanksgiving would be to rest and make the most out of my last bum days as next week would already be the start of serious schedules in the GEO and in class as well. Hoho :)

Normally, establishments would be closed but I'm not familiar of which wouldn't so to make sure, I already bought some groceries I would be needing for the next days.

There are still other groceries left that I bought early this week so I didn't bought more. So now that I'm all good, I say, hibernate mode for the next 3 days!

Oh my First Semester

This week we've already signed up for our schedules in the GEO Clinic. As we were told, we have to be in the GEO lounge to be English Assistants for 10h per week, plus additional 30h for the whole semester. I was glad that I was able to fit all that additional 30 hours into my already tight schedule (5 subjects and 10h/week EC) and still be able to join the free KL classes every Wednesday. My schedule below might be in Hangul but it just means that I'm gonna be busy as a bee for the next months. :| :)

Guess my homesickness would be diverted to something already.
