30 December 2011

All dressed up for 2012.

Apparently, during my last days in Korea, my destination has always been to the Kyobo bookstore. Its one of the major bookstores there wherein you can find many things, from books to gadgets to stationaries and cute stuffs. Of course, I appeal the latter that's why whenever I go there, I can kill half a day just looking over at the stuffs they have. Srsly! 8->

Anyways, going back, while I was there, I saw lots of artsy stuffs like scrapbooks and calendars, and notebooks and planners of different sizes and designs. There were also stickers and other things that I never thought existed so it made me wanna buy them all. Haha. I know its very impractical since they were not that budget friendly but I kind of need to buy some stuffs for my planner so I just carefully picked those that I will really use. So after spending almost 3 hours, here are the things that I bought:

1 pack (14sheets) of mini stickers, animal designed mini bookmarks, brown pen holder, and brown .4 pen - all from Iconic. Starbucks planner, half size edition(also in the photo)

Well as what I have mentioned in my past post, I bought the Starbucks planner in Korea as my gift for myself last 11/11/11 - I chose the half size one because I don't want to use bulky planners anymore 'cause I bring it everyday wherever I go. So yeah, with all these items, I can't wait to start writing in my new planner!

Luna, my La Sardina baby ❤☺

I would like to introduce my new baby, Luna the La Sardina! She's my Christmas gift for myself which I bought in Lomo Gallery in Seoul few days before I went home. I bought this along with a box of film (1 box has 3 rolls). I have been eyeing for a film camera for quite some time now and I was very glad to see a real Lomo Gallery in Korea because it has a wide range of camera choices, films and accessories.

She is my very first film camera, and I'm very excited to try her and see the results! ;) I'm planning to make a 365 film photo project but its gonna be quite expensive; buying films and having them developed every month would eat half of my allowance, Hehez. :D so I'm still thinking about it. If not, I think I would just use it to document my travels and other special occasions.

In any event, Luna and I will surely make great photos together ;) Analogue 2012, I'm so ready for you! :) :>

Christmas Eve '11

It has been our family tradition to attend mass during Christmas Eve, so that we could have our Noche Buena upon coming back, and then have the most awaited exchange gifts. ;) All of us, tries to buy gifts for everyone; even my younger brothers who are just elementary students who doesn't really have much allowance saves money so that they could buy us presents. That's why they're both very eager to see our reactions after opening the gifts they bought for us. Actually, what I like about it is not the gift itself but the effort my brothers dedicate in this family activity we have. ;"> This year, my two cousins are here to spend the holidays with us so its more fun and exciting. ;)

Anyways, I wanted to have photos with everyone because I'm planning to document it (one of my new year's resolution, yet to be finished :P ) and bring it back to Korea but because we got busy opening the gifts we receive, I wasn't able to complete it.Plus my mom and dad went up early since they hadn't have much sleep yet and they have to wake up early again tomorrow - today. We weren't also able to have our Noche Buena after due again to the gifts, hoho. :D

My sister and brother both got their Nike kicks from our parents ;) I gave my sister Missha cosmetics from SK, while earphones for my brother. :D

My brother here got his iPod from our Momma while I gave him the watch thingy for his iPod :D And as for me, I got this La Sardina camera! :"> :> :)

But, seeing the smiles from everyone's faces made me very much grateful because I got to witness it for myself and have their presence with me on this special day. I'm really glad I went home to celebrate the holidays with them. ;">

Here are the gifts I received! If I have some time, I will blog on this later or whenever. Haha :D I will also post other Christmas blogs on the following days. ;)

Have a Happy Christmas everyone! ;)

Oh, Christmas tree.

Because I was not able to help with putting up and decorating the tree, I just spent my morning today sitting beside it, admiring its loveliness. And checking out the gifts under it, too. Hihi :">

I just fancy Christmas decors too much. ;)

The bookworm's wishlist.

I take back what I said from my post about my wishlist. I recently found this book and after reading the synopsis, I got interested and now I wanna have a copy of this.

Midnight Circus by Erin Morgenstern

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des RĂªves, and it is only open at night.

But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.

True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.

Written in rich, seductive prose, this spell-casting novel is a feast for the senses and the heart.

It is not that much to add at least one more to my list right? ;)

Toto's Old Possession - Insadong

While I was doing my Christmas Shopping, I've decided to drop by in this toy store because I've heard they have antique stuffs from the 50s to 60s and its also around the vicinity so I thought it would be nice to go there too. ;) Its called Toto's Old Possession and its located in Insadong.

When I was about to wander around, an old man suddenly showed up and told me I have to pay some amount to get inisde. Its not that pricey so I paid and got in. He also said that taking pictures are allowed (maybe that's why he asks for a fee) He might be Toto, I supposed. Indeed, the store has lots of old toys which the old man all owned during his childhood I guess. He really has a massive collection. :)

"Kongi" - korean version of Jackstones (they don't use a ball here)

(L) Freddie Kruger! Because of him, I had nightmares during childhood, my mom had to watch me sleep before she does! :| :>

an old vendo machine, I never thought vendos existed in the 50s. Haha

The infamous Chuckie. I have watched every installment of this character and up to know, he still scares me! :D :S

Haha! This photo is attached in an old piano. I wonder if Toto knows who they are :">

For me, it was a fun experience since it revived some memories of my childhood and I'd have to say, his idea of displaying it for the public to see is quite artistic and edifying specially for foreigners.

Toto's Old Possessions is located at Insadong, a 10 min walk from Exit 1 of Jong-no 3 sa station on Subway line 1 (dark blue line)
Admission fee: W2,000
