{tcp:01} Cafe 1010

I didn't waste time with the hunting anymore so today I went to Cafe 1010 in Hongdae. Its a travel themed cafe with two big Lego men in its facade. I originally plan to go to Charlie Brown Cafe which was infront of the Lomo Embassy but sadly its already closed. *cries* It didn't disappoint me though since it was a really unique cafe.

When I came in, the ambiance was quite pleasing. There was a long table in the middle with wooden chairs and tiny figures displayed at the center. I can already see different travel items adorning on the walls and shelves. Plus there was a small area on the left side where more travel items like postcards, stamps, and travel kits from all around the world are displayed. They also have a some kind of library zone where customers who want to have some private time alone or those who come for group studies or meetings could stay. Its separated with a glass door by the way.

Since I came in for their theme, I didn't bother on what's in their menu. Luckily, I was able to find a pancake set on a very reasonable price so I didn't look through anymore and got the pancake of course ;) But they have other food items like sandwich and Bibimbap (비빔밥) I guess.

Pancake Set w/milk - 6.000won

I forgot to tell the lady to hold the whipped cream
because I was already busy taking pictures, hihi x)

Seeing a travel themed cafe for my first in this cafe hunt just made my drive for traveling deeper. I wish I can collect those things when I travel someday. ;)

Anyhoo, until my next cafe hunt! xx

Directions: Take the Subway to Hongik University, Line 2 Exit 9. Walk straight 'til you reach the road going to the university and turn left. Keep walking until you see Tony Moly on your right, walk through the small side street after it. Turn left only a few blocks after it and you'll already see the Lego men I'm talking about.

You can also visit their site if you like a map.

Blissful and blessed

I really am impressed how fast things happen in Korea. It was just 7 days ago when I literally applied for a US Visa and now, here it is delivered in our dormitory.

On top of that, I was surprised of how long they gave me! Oye, oye, oyeeeee! *dancing to the tune of Moves Like Jagger* I was only expecting for 6 months and a single entry but voila! For a second I thought I was dreaming or something! HAHAHA :"> :)

So yess, Im'ma pack my bags soon 'cause someone's going to Americaaa!~

{The Cafe Project}

As my time in Korea shortens, the possibility of traveling around the city, or most especially the tourist spots outside Seoul has become unattainable for me now. Not only because of lack of time but also of course lack of resources. Soooo, I have come to realize that why not just go to areas/places that I can? If you would know, Korea has a notable coffee culture having literally endless numbers of coffee shops here and there. But contradictory to plain coffee shops in Western countries, Korean cafes are much more artsy and themed which makes everyone's coffee experience in each of these cafes unique. Hence, I have made a pledge to myself to visit a few (I'm looking on at least 10 cafes in 3 weeks here) uniquely themed cafes or menu items and preview them here in my blog! ;) I got thrilled with this idea 'cause I have been a caffeine junkie for all I can remember plus I can use Luna more often. Due to my recent trips in Hongdae area, I have been drawn to cafe searching and it makes me excited to find a cute cafe where I could spend the afternoon with. I've already made a few lists which I got from the Korean Google, Naver. Although I wasn't really able to understand anything from the users posts, I just judge them by their shots of the area and the price of the menu of course. Hihi :P I'm not only gonna look through Hongdae area but also to other cafe meccas in Seoul like Samcheongdong, Hapjeong, Ehwa, Sinchon, and maybe in Insadong for traditonal cafes too. I'm already excited with this one and I hope you reader, are too! :">

365 days later

Exactly a year ago, I attended my college graduation where I got my college diploma and my RLE pin symbolizing that I am finally a BSN graduate. I can still remember how happy I was that my days of being a student have come to an end. All those case studies and case presentations, hospital duties, the NCPs and drug studies and a whole lot more that usually consumed most of my 4 years in college, were finally over. Man, college days were sure difficult no matter what degree you want to attain but getting a BSN Degree? It’s like finding a fine, fine needle in a haystack. So I’m very, very much thankful that I was able to get mine. ;)

19 March, 2011 - College Graduation Day

18 March, 2011 - College Pinning Day

Now, thinking of those days can still make me sentimental. Even though I experienced a lot of hardships during those years, and there were a lot times I wish I had taken another degree, I was still glad that I didn’t. Cause today, I’m 100% sure that I took the right path. With all the things I’ve went through after the day I graduated, I realized what I really wanted in life. I don’t mind taking vital signs and measuring I&Os of patients all day, or standing in a very long OR case and handing over surgical instruments to the surgeon (and even cleaning them afterwards), or figuring out a scrawled doctors order, or just talking to an ill patient who has no guardian at all. Maybe for others, that’s something lame or hard or whatever they wanna call it but for me, it’ what I wanna do. It’s what I’m made to do because it’s what my heart tells me to do. So that’s what I’m gonna do. I may have it completely figured out in an odd way but at least I got it all understood now. We all have dreams, and the only way to achieve our dreams is to act upon it. ;)

I hope you too, are acting upon your dreams now. As for me, you can wish me luck! xx

Good things come to an end

My flight was booked intentionally 2 days after my dad's arrival since we all wanna have some family time before I go back to Korea for the Spring Semester. Also, because my uncle from Sydney was also arriving on the day of my flight, I was hoping I could ask him questions about UOW but time didn't permit us to so my family and I just had our little family time over dinner. :) If you would know and if you have read my previous posts, our family loves to eat in buffets since we have different food preferences, you know to avoid long discussions over where to eat and what to order and stuffs like that. We went to Marriott Cafe because of the close proximity of it to the airport. I was excited for I wanted to eat their bread pudding again. It's my first time to taste bread pudding ever in my life during our first time here and since that time, I have always tried in different places but theirs is still the best. So yeah. ♥

Their Iced Tea has a cute little syrup thing so you could sweeten it to your taste.

My plates. HAHA I forgot to take a photo of my first which was a bunch of green stuffs, cheese, and bread rolls. ;">

Then, suddenly, while I was in the middle of enjoying my cheesecake, my mom was so strange to ask me to accompany her outside. So when we were walking, familiar faces surprised me. My high school friends were standing in the lobby waiting for me! :) It was my bestfriend's plan since we weren't able to hang out anymore because they have work and all so, I was touched and I was happy to see them before I go. :")

Thank you guyssss! :"> (L-R) Karen, Sarah, Junyet, Nash, B ♥

*sorry for the paperbag I looked trashy here hihi :D

During the past months, there are a lot of things that I've learned and realized about what I really want, and what are the things that really matter to me. Although it has been very clear to me now what is it, there are also some things that I have to do, and yes I might be making the not-so-right decision but, I know something good will come out of this. :)

Coming around

Roll # 2 of Luna! Yeyy! :) Taken during the weekend of my birthday, at Resorts World Manila, and around the house. :) I used Fujifilm C200. Now I'm ready to use my last roll of Lomography CN! I'm now more confident in using Luna since I already had 2 successful rolls from her. I also wanna explore more of her features like the bulb and MX settings. Can't wait for the results! I'll post it as soon as it gets developed. ;) xx
