Hello, LC-A+

Just when I thought I completely lost my money order, err I mean it got lost and didn't reach the Lomography Store, this box just welcomed me in the counter yesterday morning. Seriously, I already emailed the store to inquire regarding my order and all but now its finally here. I was really very happy I actually screamed for joy in front of my uncle while he was having breakfast. :"> I immediately opened it up, and voila! my newest baby, my own LC-A+ is finally here!

I also bought this SideKick Lte Bag and a CN400 film to add in my film stock. :) This film is my to-go film for  Luna (my La Sardina). Also, my friend told me it works well for almost any Lomo camera. I think I overdid the buying with the bag 'cause its big and kinda heavy for me but I know it would be useful so it doesn't matter. Hehe

For all those who doesn't know about this camera, I can say that its one of the most coveted lomo cameras in the lomography world. I can't speak for everyone but for me it is. It has been my dream to own one and I'm just beyond happy! So if you want to know more about the specs, you can click this site. :)

Oh before I forget, I should start thinking of a name for it. I have this weird habit to name my cameras you know. I don't know, I think its fun. I'm not the only one who does that am I? :) Anyways, maybe that could wait. Now I just can't wait to use it! :)

Summer in bleach

Heya! Like I said on my previous post, I did a little experiment on the film I used on our beach trip last weekend. So here are they:

 I used my Lomography CN 800 film which would normally create bright shots specially if use during the day (ISO 800 is best used at night where the light is low). The bleach created a bluish tone that I totally liked, however some of the shots weren't developed :(

Anyways, about the trip, I loved Myrtle Beach! Though I generally love the beach, this is my first beach trip in US so I kinda like how different it is from the setting back home. In the mornings, lots of people specially couples go for a walk and watch the sun rise. Then later during the afternoon, people just find their cozy spot on the shore, lie comfortably, read a book or do whatever they feel like while they bake themselves under the heat of the sun. I was a bit sad because I don't have a lot of shots of myself in a beautiful place like this but I already saw that coming since the folks that I came with were not a fan of taking pictures. Hoho. Plus they were mostly guys (my uncle and my two cousins) and my aunt. So I felt totally awkward to ask any of them to take a shot of me. But it came to a point wherein I finally had the courage to ask my uncle one shot but it was totally awkward. xx

How awkard could this get? :|

Overall, it was a great weekend though. Short, but sweet & a different summer experience for me ;)

Film experiment series #1 - Bleach Effect

Recently, I have been reading a lot of articles of other lomographers about destroying their films to produce different effects such as baking the film, putting it in the dishwasher, and soaking it in various solutions (lemon juice, vodka, tea, and even urine!). I got curious that I wanted to try one for myself but I was unsure because I might end up destroying the film completely. I wouldn't want that to happen since I'm kinda low on C-41 films right now - all I have left are mostly slide films which I can't really use 'cause I don't know a place that processes it. I only have my films processed at Costco but they only do C-41 so yeah. I'm still searching for a place though. :)

Going back, I've finally decided to try one since I was really inspired by the results of other people's experiments. Plus I could have something else to do other than reading and watching a bunch of series all day. Hoho :P

So, I've chosen to try bleaching my film for my first experiment. I wanted to try using lemon juice but we don't it so I opted for this one. Also, I loved the results the bleach made from this article so I gave it a try. I just completely followed the instructions however I don't have a martini shaker so I just used a normal jar instead. I also did this after using the film from our trip in Myrtle Beach (separate post). But you can do this before using the film as well, it doesn't really matter. ;)

While I was drying it, I kinda felt like I was doing it wrong and I might have exposed the film so I was really nervous that I won't have any photos from my only summer trip this year. Hehez. But, luckily I got it right and I got beautiful results which I will blog on a separate post. :)

Now I'm pretty much confident - and excited on trying another experiment for my next roll. Toodles! x

There's always a first

Tita Gemma brought us to Napa Valley to have wine tasting which was my first time. Then, I tried for the first time as well to use the Redscale film from Lomography to take photos of our trip.

It was a  nice sunny day, and I loved the wines and the results of the film! ;)
