Beyond Yeokgok streets

One Sunday afternoon, I decided to take a different path going back to my dormitory. I passed by the mini-park-slash-playground where old and young people gather and play (yes, old people play some kind of boardgames there, hehe) and spent their afternoons with.

Bubblies in Seoul

Suyen, one of my closest college girlfriends, went to Seoul for the Holy Week along with her mom and aunt so we had arranged a day for us to meet. Of course we had to! :) However, since they were on a tour, they don't really have all the time by themselves because they have to follow the itineraries and the time schedule. However, its a good thing they had 63 Building as one of their itineraries since its nearer my area. Plus I would have the chance to visit the place for the first time too. Hehez :D























63 Building is located in Yeouido where you can also find a park which is just alongside the Han River. I kinda arrived early so I went to the park while waiting for them. There were lots of people walking around the place, children playing with their parents and even pets in the grassy fields, of course couples strolling around, group of friends biking and others who were just enjoying the view. I saw lots of cute kids playing, specially this little boy who even posed when I asked for his picture. Hihi :P


















When they arrived, I chose to just wait for them to finish the tour since I'm not a fan of museums and aquarium stuffs which is what you can actually see in the building. After they finished, I went with them for dinner, I was lucky that their tour guide was nice enough to let me come with them (and eat for free as well) until they get back at the hotel.
















I let Suyen try Makgeolli (막걸리) or Korean rice wine, then accompanied by a little (or a lot) girl bonding til we get hyped and all. Hehe

I left early in the morning to catch the Easter Mass where I'm supposed to read in. I was very glad realizing that we used to be together back in college struggling over our nursing life and now we're here in a different country catching up and reminiscing those good old days. Anyways, Happy Easter everyone! ;)

Embracing Nature

Since lately, I've been having this "reconnect with nature" vibe, because I'm getting dissatisfied with the scene of my room and my desk every single day. So I decided to get out of the box and get some sunshine on my face. As for today, I chose to go to Seoul Forest to see some deer! Oyeaaa :P Its a bit farther from the center of the city and it took about more than an hour and a half to get there. When I got off the station, I walked for about 10 minutes before reaching the place. The wind was kinda strong and cold so I was really not happy during the walking part. Hehez.

 

 The park is too big if you wanna go around just walking so there are bikes available to rent. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to acquire that skill when I was still a child so I had no choice but to walk. My first destination was to the deer forest. It was a bit farther from the entrance so I had to walk for another 5 minutes more. When I got there, I saw the lovely creatures. They were being fed by other visitors who are also amazed by them as much as I am. They seemed so gentle and friendly. Despite my tiredness from the journey I took just to get here, seeing them like this, I knew it really was a good idea in the first place. 

         

After that, I went around other areas too. At first, I didn't have any problem walking around, in fact I found it enjoying. Hehe :) Seeing different breathtaking views of nature and other people walking around too, it was very relaxing.

            

However, after almost an hour doing it, my feet kinda got tired, and the wind was getting stronger too. Besides, it was getting late already, so I just rested for a bit in the plaza where you can find the famous sculpture of men riding horses. And there were other sculptures from different artists too. :)

  

    

  

 

Although I came back with a dead tired feet, my inner "traveler self" was very much overwhelmed. There is no exact word that can describe how contented I am with where I've reached today :") I wish I could do more of this often. Hehe :)

Lomohome of the Day

I have recently added the Lomography website as one of my default homepages because I have totally fallen in love with film photography. My morning wouldn't be complete without viewing other photos taken by other Lomo users all over the world. It inspires me to see a lot of beautiful shots and ideas from other lomographers using different cameras and films, makes me wanna shoot more. ;)

Anyways, while I was browsing through the Lomography page of Korea, I was surprised to see that I was featured as LomoHome of the Day :) ;) Although I didn't quite understand what the short description about my page was, I was still over the top privileged to be featured as today's Lomohome! ;">

Now since I'm more inspired, I'm think I'm gonna head off somewhere with lovely photo opportunities. ;) I'll just leave you with a photo of how I spent my morning earlier. Taken at a cafe beside my university, a colleague of mine and I had some finalization about our upcoming Easter Party plan. I had an Earl Grey Latte and this so so cheap, but huge sesame muffin (only for 500w). Okay, ta-ta! ;)
